This is excellent advice. But if you still want to make the change to CC tuba, the one to go with is the Conn 52 or 56J. It's a great and easy playing instrument in all its registers, and the upper range will simply reflect the security of the player. That's why the greats have advocated mouthpiece playing. I'm sure that many of us have discovered that mouthpiece playing not only improves security, but tone quality and intonation as well, in all registers.
