That performance blew me away too. One of the stunts he did involved singing and playing at slightly different pitches, producing very distinct beats. (They were almost percussive.) I think most of us have done that; what made it impressive was that he gradually brought the pitches together, slowing down the beat frequency smoothly right down to zero. His control was incredible and the effect was actually musical, rather than being just a "look at what I can do" stunt.
He also made it sound as if he was singing and playing in unison while some other agent was playing a perfect fifth above. The extra note stopped and started somehow, again with great precision, and again it made musical sense. -wow-
