I have been playing the 601 5valve model for about eight years now. I've made a few adjustments- shortened the 2nd valve slide, made the 5th valve right thumb operated, and a couple of other cosmetic things.
I've played a few other Cerveny models, and every one of them plays completely different.
I also discovered this with ALL makes and models of ALL tubas. As far as playing in tune, in my opinion, the player is about 88% responsible.
But, it looks like Cerveny has made some improvements on their instruments.
