All the above suggestions sound good to me. However I will guess that with increased use of your new F you will discover that you must actively "manage" your first valve slide, and adopt a horn-holding posture that will allow your left hand to grip the slide easily. This should be your primary technique for lowering your "D". I would also consider adapting your second slide for a trigger to allow a rapid pull for your D. Both techniques together should work fine. H. Critchley
