I hope some note will be taken on what has been said here. While Pat Sheridan and Sam Pilafian are holding a seminar to "teach" a person better performing techniques to become a soloist, the 'new' Roger Bobos, Harvey Phillips, and Arnold Jacobs of the world are learning the basics in high school and college. Oh, and there won't be very many of them. It's just my opinion, but if you don't learn the basics and then in turn learn how to be a musical player, music becomes a "job" rather than a "joy". Let's put the joy back in playing.
