I agree completely. Even though I've never played an F tuba, I can relate to the feeling of 'funny' notes. My Getzen was rather iffy on the middle line D, and I would have a lot of toruble centering it. Now I've learned apparently subconsciously how to fix it as I play. Actually, my lips have. Squirrely notes tend to work out as you adapt to the horn. After 2 years with my mirafone, I could play every note in tune without moving any slides. Everything just fell into place.
Anyone else with similar experience?
