The BB1 produces a nice sound. It's a very "concentrated" and focused sound. Not very free blowing, but feels good to the face and is easy to control all ranges. Intonation is great also. I prefer the feel of a much more open mouthpiece, like that of the SM3 or 52E2 Schilke. Just preference though.
