Trumpets are usually not playing below their low F# as do tubas. Their trigger adjustments are small and easily done. In addition, in proportion to the size of the instrument the necessary adjustments are much smaller than on the tuba. On the tuba the adjustment is inversely proportional to the frequency whereas on the trumpet a paper by Dr. Robert Young, former president of the Acoustical Society of America, the adjustment is inversely proportional to the square root of the frequency change desired. That makes the slide adjustments about only one half as much.
