They run pretty flat and it takes a lot of lipping to get them where they are supposed to be. I don't play the instrument enough to get good at it. I have found if I play on it for a while they seem to improve a little so the preoblem is not that big of a deal. I am using a Doug Elliot "P" cup mouthpiece with a P5 shank that Doug made to fit the reciever of the original tuning bit which has a very odd taper to it.
