I agree with Klaus. You might want to investigate the students personal life a little and see if there are any "problems" at the home front. By no means am I suggesting to become the students counseler but knowing a little more personally might help. I only wish I had your problem though. My students seem to take lessons because their parents force them to so it is always a struggle just to get 5% let alone 50%.
