Well put, Klauss!!!!!

When a student (or the parents) pay for private tuition they should expect something more than just another classroom situation with a pass or fail at the end. Dedication to the student is part of the mentoring process which a good teacher performs. Some "teachers" are not so good in this role.

This is not to say that there are not some students who are a waste of time, effort and money to continue with.

There has been a broad cross section of opinions in this thread and I give the original poster credit for asking for opinions. I do not see a problem with it having not been signed in this case. Hopefully the opinions which have been expressed will be analysed and all who have posted and/or read them will gain some insight from this exchange.

Teaching is really a part of one's life long education and the teacher should be learning something from each student as well as expanding their own knowledge in other areas, especially those which can enhance their professional skills.
