TA-Musik is a multi-national conglomerate that owns Wenzel Meinl, VMI, Courtois, and several others. VMI builds tubas with two major labels: B&S and VMI, but they also will rebadge their instruments with labels for specific importers. For example, F. Schmidt is a label used by Brook Mays for VMI instruments that they import directly. In another example, Wenzel Meinl labels their tubas Meinl-Weston in the U.S. and Melton elsewhere. In still another example, some tubas are sold as B&S or VMI with only slight differences, with an assortment of endorsement labels such as Parantucci and Culbertson.

All the factories make parts for each other as needed, too.
