The main problem with missing molars would be, that the sealing of the tongue preceding a forte attack might not be tight enough.
Fortunately I have not been in a situation, from where I could tell about the long term effects.
I have had both my lower "canines" replaced with metal-ceramic crowns sitting plugged into the original roots. I could not play during the replacement procedures, which both took a bout 2 weeks due to the production time of the crown.
When I had one of my largest molars replaced with a similar crown glued to the remains of the wrecked tooth, I had an interim plastic crown (very primitive) installed. After a very, very short adjustment I could continue my playing.
Just for your information.
