Been there... We had a composer write a BQ piece and wanted a Whispa mute in the trumpet 1 part. When we asked why he wanted that mute (sound, tone, whatever), he said he saw it in a book. BTW, the rest of the piece was a POS. Nothing is more fun than a grad school composer.
