I can speak for those who feel they dont have a choice. Intentionally or not, V**** and TE prey on students and BD's who come from areas with small or no music stores, and thus who have no clue about where to get a tuba. The sad truth is, most young tubists (tubaists) have no idea that places like TubeNet exist where they can find good salespeople. They type in tuba on Yahoo, and arrive at TE. They don't know anywhere else exists. They don't have the DL on tubas, so they see the hype for the St. Pete, and buy one. Now, this isn't a knock on St. Pete's more or less, but this really happens a lot.

We've got to get the word out to small music stores who actually deal with the schools -"if they wont carry good tubas, fine, we understand, but point schools to good dealers like Dillons, Baltimore Brass, Brasswind and others. Don't let them find TE by mistake!"
