On the advise of Joe I also use Blue Juice.
But sometimes it is too thin for some horns. It is sucked up by the porous oxidation layer, or it evaporates too fast. Hence my addition of a little of some heavier oil.
Not all oils will blend well, but such emulsion creates tiny balls, as in ball bearings. Basically that is the same effect strived for in well lubricated trombone slides, where the lubrication components are silicone and water. Creating somewhat larger "balls" than the oil emulsions do.
