Yeah, I've had a kid play in Carnegie Hall, but I didn't pay for them to do it...Actually tickets were sold and both concerts were sold out (to regular patrons...not parents). That was truly a great experience for my kid, and not a manufactured bullshit one.

We're raising lower middle class kids (similar to my kids) to believe that the experiences of the wealthy are everyday experiences for everyone. This distorts their perspective, severely damages their work ethic, warps their sense of finances, and leaves them with a huge change of an (ala Peggy Lee) "Is that all there is?" once they are out on their own.

I don't think you and I agree on very much regarding this topic.
