While I will admit to not having played the newer models, I played a 25 from 8th grade through my freshman year at college. I loved that horn. That said, I will admit that it only did what I made it do. Some of the thinner walled horns (cerveny - St.Pete) have very quick response (for me any ways) and seem to be easier to produce a sound on. The 25 took some work to get what I wanted, but I loved the dark warm sound I got. It was just an unforgiving beast. If you were not right on the money, the horn would fight back.
