Mr. Fletcher and the PJ ensemble have an entirely different style from the CSO-comprised BQ ... albeit different groups, and different styles, they are both great recordings.
When I am preparing a piece I haven't performed before (whether BQ or orchestra), and if recordings are available, I always get a recording of CSO, a group like Vienna, and a third "budget line" recording - knowing that I will likely get three very different interpretations to assist what I am preparing. f.w.i.w.
