My french horn was cryogenically treated by its previous owner. Both of the previous owners gave up the horn because they could not get used to it. After playing it for a year ("playing it in") I did get used to it, and got the sound out of it that I wanted. I think the cryogenic treatment had absolutely zero effect on the horn, compared to the difference between when I first started playing it and a year later when I had this particular horn figured out.
