Thanks. I played quite a bit on a very old 4-valve Conn CC that was very much shaped like the 56J. I know nothing about Conn's old numbering systems, so I have no idea what model it was called. It belonged to a friend of mine, and he got it from some old high school near San Francisco. I liked that horn quite a bit, even though it had a few funky tuning issues. I find this type of horn very comfortable, and I liked the sound that it produced. It was quite heavy, so maybe the newer ones don't sound quite the same. Anyway, thanks for the info, and I'm going to keep my eyes open.
