What earth-shattering differences do you see between the rim of an older large model Helleberg and Doug's 4N 132 rim? I see that Doug's rim is a tiny bit sharper on the inner edge and that it is a tiny bit flatter in profile than does my 1960s CH. The two feel and play extremely similar. If it were not for what came after the rim, I do not know that I would be able to tell them apart, in all honesty (which is why I purchased it in the first place).

Are you looking for Doug to mass produce a "DE Helleberg" model? I do not see that happening in the near future.

Making "an exact copy off of a standard Conn Helleberg mouthpiece" would require that one define which generation of these needed to be copied, as they have changed in many small ways over the decades. I have seen wider and deeper cups on much older ones (such as mine), as well as rims that were both a little bit flatter OR rounder.

What are you fishing for here?

Wade
