the reason I decided I have an equipment problem is that I recorded violin and guitar a few weeks ago, and that sounds lousy too. It is dead sounding, lacks something indefinable except "dead." I have had much better results in the past with my Tascam cassette and the vocal mike, with a truer sounding violin. So I'm confuscated. It's not that horn and tuba are hard to record....it's a problem with the recording equipment.
