A cassette tape I recently uncovered at the Tuba Ranch reveals Thomas Scherman conducting the Little Orchestra Society of New York dated November 7, 1955, Mr. William Bell Tuba Soloist. It is a very good recording considering it's live and 48 years old! Not to mention only the 2nd performance in the world and the American premiere! The other recording of Mr. Bell performing "When Yuba Plays the Rhumba" with Stokowski/NYPO is awesome as well! It was a live "historic" broadcast that was released in 1982 (if memory serves me!) as a special promotion. Hopefully Mr. Phillips will be able to get these released in the near future. Be patient, he's definitely working on it and if anyone can do it, it's him! Take care, Mike
