I'll post a new message instead of a reply... Sean -- why does spam.abuse.net come up when I try to post a reply?

Thanks for y'all's suggestions. I'm thinking maybe the best thing to do is just try something like one of the smaller Bachs, with a slightly smaller rim, cup, etc.

I don't play fancy equipment -- my B-flat is a B&H Regent; not a bad horn for the money, small, compact, and easy to play -- and my E-flat is an old cheapo Wurlitzer horn; not a very good horn, but it doesn't take much air. I use it mostly for jazz and acoustic music (bluegrass, etc.). I hardly ever do classical work on tuba.

On 'bone, I use a Bach 6-1/2AL on tenor and a 7C on alto -- the 7C has a smaller rim diameter, so I'm figuring on trying about the same ratio with the E-flat.

Thanks again for the suggestions!

Urb
