I have also noticed that the higher I play, the lower I seem to be able to play. I will be working on someting like Wilder's Effie Suite for about an hour, and then I will start playing low notes, and they pop right out. I tried this after one of my trumpet-playing buddies told me how it happens to him. It's kinda cool.
