I have one of these great BBbs. It came with the upright bell and I bought a spare so that I could have a recording bell for it too. It's by far the best 6/4 BBb that I've played. The only BBb that I feel as comfortable with as my CC tubas.
I have made some modifications to it. It was originally a top action 3-valve. I found a Willson BBb that was a real dog and transplanted the front-action 4-valve cluster from it to the Martin. That upped the bore size from .717" to .748"(19mm). There's a noticable improvement in response and sound with the bigger bore, and it seems to have maintained the air efficiency of the original bore. I use mine for the summer concerts in my orchestra. I usually play a Rudy Meinl 5/4 CC.
They should make these Martins again.
