It also depends on the area you are teaching in. Demographics. In KC I could charge 15 a 1/2 hour and nobody blinked. 50 miles north in St Joseph, I charge more around 8. The really serious students will pay whatever it takes if the product you are selling is good.
I also have friends in NY and Boston that charge 40/hour and have a waiting list. Figure out what the money situation is with your students and go from there.
