I think by the time you wrapped your newspaper around all those tubes, you'd need more than four of those suckers. I actually did calculate the surface area of a straight conic, a bell, and valve tubing for a BBb tuba, and came up with about 4500 square inches. That's 1.8 cubic inches of silver at 0.0004" thick, which at .379 pounds/cubic inch, is about three quarters of a pound (mass, of course). Sure, the straight conic is an approximation, but not a bad one, and I didn't even include much depth into the bell for plating.
