After reading more deeply into this orchestra. I first would like to say that I'm happy that he got the position and glad to see that orchestra start to diversify.
On a different note, I'm appalled to have my eyes opened to the continued racism and sexism within the VPO. Until such time that old habits die off, I will not be listening to this orchestra.
I had actually considered listening to more recordings of Vienna, but reconsidered when reading more into it. I personally cannot call this orchestra one of the best in the world until their late 19th-early 20th century thinking wears off. My opinion and my opinion only.
