Get a Walt Johnson. Your 182 would fit just fine in the small Johnson case (which looks alot like a Yamaha 621 case), and it would be as managable as a large suitcase, and come in well under any 50 lb weight limits that might be imposed. As I mentioned below, I've flown several hundred flight segments (I count segments because the baggage handlers will be moving the tuba on each one)with a Yamaha 822 F in a medium Johnson case (weighing in at 56 lbs.), and even without a basketball or a styrofoam cone in the bell (your horn must fit SNUGLY), nothing at all has ever happened to the horn. Flying with the Yamaha hard case was another matter!
