I had one, and the 190 is a true Kaiser. It shares no parts with the 188, except maybe the spitvalve. It has a larger leadpipe and has a full .835 bore throughout all valves. It is VERY tall. It still has that brassy Mirafone sound when pushed, and will cut through an orchestra like a knife. Despite the large bore, you can still play very fast on it. I currently have a 1290, which has a darker tone and does not break up as easy. The branches are larger than the 190, I believe. It also seems to need more air than the 190. It may not be classified as a 5/4, but it sure looks, sounds, and smells like one.
