I could go along with the idea of a Lexan (polycarbonate) rim and cup, but I would use something different for the shank, like acetal resin (Delrin). Polycarbonates tend to craze when exposed to hydrocarbons (like valve oil) and the shank can be subject to some pretty high stresses, at times. I know that Doug Elliot offers Lexan rims, from time to time, and he might be able to supply you with a Lexan cup to go with it. Check the archives for his phone number.
