I have been using a Meinl Weston 2145 (a newer one with the large valveset)for the past year in brass quintet, and found it to be a perfect horn for this size group. I've also used it in a wind ensemble, and an orchestra for Mendelsohn's "Elijah", and found it works well in those settings. The size and price of the horn are similar to the new Conn 52J. The differences between the horns are bore & bell size, the Meinl Weston has a larger bore (.750" vs. .687") but smaller bell (16.5" vs. 18"). I would try both of these horns before making a decision.
