When I lived in apts. in college, I used the University practice rooms. If you're not in school, maybe you can swing a deal with the music dept. to use a practice room if it's convenient to your apartment. I have, in a pinch, used the laundry facilities as a practice room, but that was in an apt. complex where the laundry was in a seperate building next to the pool. The other tenants may look sideways at you, but as a tuba player you should be used to that by now. ;^) Besides, what's the difference between your practicing a tuba and Joe Subwoofer down the way blasting his stereo? They always just say they didn't think it was THAT loud.
