You're lucky.
Where I live, only one shop rents tubas. The rates are higher that a bank loan would be, but you do get to keep the horn if you pay it off before it falls apart. The other shops have quit renting tubas because it was cost-prohibitive to keep them in playing order year in and year out. It seems the kids were beating all hell out of them.
