Learn to free-buzz. It's not the "right" way to play the instrument, but it will solve your problem. I can free-buzz a whole four octaves, and it's only a slight difference from using a mouthpiece. I "pooch" more when using a mouthpiece. I'm not a pro, mind you, but I can play the range of the instrument.
