Yes. Patrick Sheridan talked at his recent master class about the lessons he had been taking.
A teacher doesn't have to be better than the student to be an effective teacher. The teacher just has to know how to help the student explore those dark corners. Usually, it's a matter of handing them a flashlight and telling them what direction to point, and then the student is on his own to deal with what he sees.
