For Eb fingerings, click on the "Tips" link at the top of the page.

Eb tubas are used as the higher tuba part in band music, in ensembles and even orchestral work. In short, they can be used for just about anything. Some people consider the best F tuba to be one pitched in Eb :).

If you know trumpet fingerings, an easy way for you to get started with Eb is to read bass clef as if you were reading treble clef trumpet, but adding three sharps to the bass clef key signature. Thus, Eb just below the staff would be played like C on trumpet (open), F would be played the same as D (13 or 4). You get the idea.

But this is only a quick-start crutch--it's best to learn Eb fingerings the "right" way if you intend to stay with the instrument.
