I bought one about 7 mo. ago. I haven't had a single problem with it. I'm not a pro and may be considered average if that. I can't compare it to anything but the battle worn 3/4 horn I've been allowed to use from the local school system. It's an Elkhart. There may be some better horns for not much more money. As some here on BBS have said, the horn seems to be thin and may dent easily. I take great care in handling in as I would any tuba and haven't suffered a ding yet.The bell got two small wrinkles during shipment from Germany.A friend of mine who works in a music store locally said appx. 30% of all tubas shipped get some damage. Oh! The Russian mouthpiece is more than lousy. For the money I spent,I've got my own horn in my lap and am happy.
