I think you are probably correct, Lew. There must be some interchangeability in these terms. The reason I posted this question is that I bought a Benge 290 bass trombone, and its bell is red (or rose) color----even though the factory calls it "gold" brass. Very confusing, to me at least. (By the way, the Benge 290 bass trombone is a killer horn------the best I've ever played. Markedly better than my Bach Strad 50B3LO that I recently sold.)
