I have Conn1, 2, 3, and 4 and stand by what I say. The Conn 1 is, by far the, largest and makes very pleasant and deep low tones rumble fom any horn I have ever tried it on but the Conn 2 is nearly as deep and my choice for symphonic playing. It is very much a deep cone with very little "cup" shape to it. The back bore might be less than the Hellebergs but this causes Dr. Bernoulli's principle to seem to pull air from you. I have played several Conn Hellebergs and and eschew them in favor of the Conn 2s. This discussion may well be moot, however, if the UMI folks didn't keep their word and continue to produce the Conn 2 as a UMI 2. The UMI 2s are not supposed to look like Conn 2s, btw, but are supposed to have the same inner dimensions. Marty, wouldn't it be fun to sit together and compare mouthpieces? I have about 3 dozen of them.
