Might I respectfully suggest that both the mint condition LP and the tape at least be professionally dubbed to DAT or some other non-degrading medium? 30 year old reel-to-reel tape, given the sound levels on the LP, is probably in worse shape by now (because of print-through) than the LP.
The vinyl that the LP was pressed from is pretty poor stuff--right after I finished dubbing my master DAT from it, mine spontaneously developed a crack near the edge.
