Both Rudy Meinl and Meinl-Weston are well made horns. The Rudy will come off the line with better slide alignments in general as compared to the MW2145, but I think that has to do with the way Piston valve wraps are designed and the high susceptability for there to be a little of mis-alignment. For what it is worth, you usually get better craftsmanship the more you pay and in the case of German horns this is true.
