Workmanship? Heh. I have a 52J, same thing, smaller bell. The workmanship is "good" at best. Fortunately, I didn't buy the horn because of how well it was made. It does play extremely well, IMO. Open through the ranges, from F0 to Eb4 (as far as I can play). Personally, it doesn't matter if the bottom bow is a little rough where it joins the bell (on the inside), if the laquer job's a little iffy, or if the main tuning slide is interchangable with a 20K Sousaphone...it's still a great, great horn. :)

...now all I'm waiting for is a hard case.
