Hi everyone,

I got to try out the new Conn's. I very much liked the sound, tuning and even response - in fact both horns in the showroom had the same "feel" to them, which, although is incidental evidence, bids well for a fairly consistent product. My only nitpick was with the somewhat thinner metal on the bell of the instrument. It seemed prone to dings - or possibly worse - over the long run if the tubist didn't treat it like a museum piece. I don't want to knock an otherwise obviously decent tuba, so I was wondering what some of the actual owners of the horn have experienced. In my opinion, because of any tuba's large size, as a practical matter, they should be able to hold up to a reasonable amount of jostling within a gig bag during transit, and some occasional bumps without significantly damaging the instrument.
