I would look into the Rudy Meinl family of tubas. They have a nice 4/4, a big 5/4, and a monstous 6/4 BBb's. The prices are pretty good for the quality of horn you get. Also, you might want to look into the Meinl Weston 25, or call Dillon's and see if they still have the very nice 5V version they have. I know some may say the Meinl Weston is a little small, but I feel you could easliy achieve most anything with this horn and the right moutpiece combination. Plus for the price of a Meinl-weston you could almost have enough left over for the new King BBb tuba which would be a great BBb for any quintet/smaller ensemble/brass band or other. At 10K two tubas are easily ascertainable, plus increases options/versatility.
Good luck in your search,
Matt G
