The Willson is the only BBb tuba that I have played that I thought did some things better than my York Master. The only part I'm not sure about is the ppp playing. The Willson seems optimized for the other end of the spectrum.

I have played a couple of CC tubas of the Yorkenstein persuasion that had that soft touch despite their size. That would tempt me in the direction of the Gronitz if I were willing to get divorced over the purchase of a tuba. It's a little cheaper than the Willson, too.

I've played BBb tubas that I liked a lot, but I've never played a 4/4 that I like as well as my York Master, so only a much larger instrument, with the earth-moving power for the solo player in a large band, would seem like an improvement.
