I have purchased several tubas from Ebay and have had nothing but good experiences. The people I've bought from, (many of whom are regular posters on Tubenet) have been honest and efficient in all of these transactions. That being said, it is important to know about what you're buying. Many items, (such as sheet music and tuners) are regularly being auctioned off at higher prices than some of the larger music stores offer right out of their catalogues. My advice: be sure about what you want and be willing to bid high to get it. I always ask the seller a couple of routine questions to see if they're willing to communicate. If they respond in a timely, intelligent way, I am more apt to bid on their sale items. Beware of the words "vintage", "antique", and "rare". On Ebay, these are usually synonymous with junk.
