I almost majored in music more than 20 years ago but went into engineering instead. You can always choose another major and still play tuba for the pleasure of it. I minored in music and played tuba all the time in college but I never had a tuba to call my own. I've had keyboards and a valve trombone, but I am so sorry I never had my own tuba. Now I'm looking to get back into it and I am so excited.
Please take a deep breath and think about keeping your tuba. I sold my valve trombone and keyboards years ago for additional college money. I finally bought a digital keyboard 15 years ago, a grand piano 9 years ago, and now it's time for my tuba. Don't make the same mistake I did. Save your instruments. You will miss them terribly when they're gone...trust me!
